Best Year Yet

2019 gives us another year to make improvements in our lives, if we so wish. So if you are going to make the most of this year what will you use to improve things.

Resolutions

This is a favourite for a lot of people. To give you the best chance of making them stick then why not use the S M A R T formula.
S = Specific (e.g. I want to achieve a weight of 9 stone 7 pounds not I want to be slimmer)
M = Measurable (e.g. I want savings of £1000 by the end of the year not I want to be richer)
A = Achievable (e.g. I want savings of £1000 by the end of the year not I want to be a millionaire by the end of the year)
R = Realistic (see above. Make sure you can believe in the goals)
T = Time Bound (give a specific date to achieve it by)
If you use the SMART technique you can flesh out your goals and make them work for you.
Write them in a positive way and focus on what you DO wan not what you DON'T. Example: I want to achieve a weight of 9 stone 7 pounds and NOT I want to lose 43 pounds in weight.

Meditations

Meditation has been used in many cultures around the world for thousands of years. The benefits are numerous and include:
Improved focus
Calming the mind and body
Reducing/Removing anxiety
Improved breathing
Improved health
Improved self-awareness
We have a few meditations that you can use in the blog and in our previous newsletters. Use the one/s that feel right for you. Incorporating meditation int our daily life will work wonders.

Gratitude Jar

We recently wrote about this on the blog. Get yourself a good sized jar. During 2019 write down one thing you are grateful for on a slip of paper. At the end of the year, or when you feel the need, you can read all the things you were grateful for during the year.

Health

Why not take a good look at your diet. What changes can you make to improve your diet? Are there foods or drinks that you can remove? Are there food or drinks that you can incorporate into your diet to improve your health?
Do you exercise enough? Or at all? Why not start a fitness regime? If you have traditionally led a sedentary life then joining a gym may not be the best solution. if you feel that is the support you need then go for it. If you have not exercised for along time then perhaps start by walking round the block every day. Find a fitness class you like. Swimming. There are so many options open to us. We just have to find what works for us.
Exercising will improve your health, stamina, breathing, focus, attention and much more.

Spirituality

If you want to expand your spiritual horizons why not get a book on a particular subject that interests you? Or join a class? Or find an online tutorial? Improving your spiritual self will also yield improvements in your life.

Financial
To improve your financial situation you need to spend less than you bring in. The first step would be to details your financial standing - savings, debt, income, etc. Next step is to identify what you are spending your money on. So record every single penny spent. Then look at where you reduce spending. Can you think of ways to increase your income - second job, part time job, selling things, making things, teaching something, creating courses in something. The better your income, the lower your spending the more you can save.

Whatever you choose to utilise you have one whole year of opportunities ahead. Grasp them,
