Sheila young spring post

March is here and it always makes me think of the saying "Mad as a March Hare."  A phrase thought to describe the strange behaviours of hares during this month, which is the beginning of their mating season. It's said that they are seen to be dancing about wildly looking almost as though they are boxing. How funny I imagine a lot of species look a bit odd at that time of year, especially if you potentially only got fruity once a year. That's enough t make anyone dance about.
But seriously, March madness is all to do with the onset of Spring - days slightly warmer and getting slowly brighter. I love seeing the first daffodils bobbing their beautiful yellow heads in the spring breeze. It always makes me think of ladies wearing bonnets - from a distance of course and with a great deal of imagination. Anyway, I love to see the new spring blooms brightening up the ground adding glorious jewel-bright colours after the blandness of winter. I always feel the birds sing a little louder too or maybe that's just the mad hare thing!!

Speaking of creation - Mothers Day will soon be with us. Whether your mum is in spirit or with you on the earth plane it's a time for reflection. Not for a box of Dairy Milk (other brands are also available) hastily bought from a gas station and a cheap bunch of tired flowers from the same place. For me it's just a lovely day to say ‘Thank You’. Thank you for being here, wherever your ‘here’ is.If you’re lucky enough to have your mum and to have a good relationship with her, take the time to do something thoughtful. Often that's not the above mentioned but spend time with her, sharing stories of days gone by or baking together. Giving her your time to tell her that her efforts are appreciated. When it comes to mothering, let me tell you as someone that's been struggling for years to get it right on both sides of the spectrum - it's not easy! Not everyone is blessed to be with their mum for a start. Those that are don't always get along. There's no rule book that tells a new mum what to do or how to cope. So my thoughts are that I try every day to remember that my mum and I are human first. So if you have a mum or are a mum take some time on Mother's Day to appreciate the fact that you are here. Hopefully doing the best that you can. If not, try to forgive and understand that anyone can be a mother but it takes someone very special to be a mum.
The one thing we all have in common is at some stage we definitely all had one.
So if you do or don't, if you’re struggling to be or not, remember everyone could use a day to be appreciated for doing their best. If not, love yourself and give your inner child a hug and celebrate that.

Enjoy the spring sales. Relish a new spring in your step. Keep an eye out for boxing hares. Happy March everyone.
