January by Sheila

This year I'm going to focus on a clear out - wardrobes, under the stairs cupboards, unfinished jobs but mostly me (are there any people in my life that are stragglers from the former me). I've decided it's time to let go of people I don't gel with or that bring negative energy with them.
This is a new year. A year to count blessings small and large. A fresh outlook. I'm going to be one of those worry free people. It's seriously giving me lines. Lol. No. It's seriously holding me back. I spend half my life apologising. A lady rushing to get on the bus just this morning knocked me flying. Albeit for a quick-reflexed gent I'd have been on my bottom. I said sorry for being in her way!

I realised I do this a lot. I assume or presume everything is my fault. So I've decided January is about cutting out refined white sugar (it's so bad for us) and white flour (also not good for us. Apparently it has no nutritional value. None. Zero). I like a muffin or Lola's cup cake, as much if not more than the next girl. Seriously, we all need to eat stuff that has the bigger picture in mind.
I've already found beetroot brownies by the Detox Kitchen. All I have to say is yum yum. They are good for us. That's my kind of chocolate.

I'm changing to spelt pasta, gluten free wholemeal bread and I'm drinking more water and herb teas. I'm also excluding milk except for soya or goats. It's not about losing weight. Although that is an issue, for me at least. It's about that darned picture ......... you know the bigger one.

A new year. A new us. Whether it's health related or relative related we need to surround ourselves with people that help us to be the best us we can be. Not Negative Nora's or Whinging Wilmas. Sorry if your name actually is Nora or Wilma! No offence intended.

It's time to plan ahead. If we feel good we might smile at someone who really needs a kind gesture. We may hold open a door for someone. You get the picture. What goes around comes around. I'm going to make sure what I'm putting out into the universe is the best version of me that I can.
New year, new beginnings. So if you are changing jobs, getting over a break up, about to have a baby or found a new love this new year should be about fresh starts. A new day. A new dawn. A new life.

If you could start again what would you do differently. Maybe nothing. Well done you. Maybe a few small changes. Perhaps a life challenging over haul! Whatever you're tackling in life, start now fresh and make each day exactly what you'd like it to be.
As always, love Sheila
