Carpe Diem

The phrase Carpe Diem (which is a shortened version of the longer phrase) translates as Seize The Day. It can be seen to refer to living in the moment and not worrying about the future. I.E. living in the moment. There are a number of things you can do in the morning to make the most of it.

Exercise

If you have time in the morning exercise is a great way to start your day. It gets your blood pumping, makes you breath faster and exercise generates energy. If you feel you would not have time due to the time you wake up try getting up earlier. At first it might feel testing but after a couple of weeks you will begin to feel the benefits and will enjoy it. You can choose from various exercises: Walking, running, swimming, weight training, aerobics, kettlebells, weight machines, martial arts and so many more. Exercise first thing will get you motivated and energised for the day. 

Meditation

You can start the day by meditating. As there are many techniques you can use meditation for it can help you: start the day peacefully and remove any stress you may have, motivate yourself to take action, gee yourself up or get just get you in a calm state for the day ahead. You can choose which meditation you do each day. Choose the one that suits the day ahead.

Mantras

Mantras are phrases that you repeat to help you create your life. There are so many options and you can customise them to suit you. Try to make them shorter and memorable than too convoluted. They should be positive. They should be in the present tense. They should be what you DO want not what you DON'T want. E.g. I am slim and healthy NOT I want to stop being fat. Say your mantras repeatedly. If you can then say them out loud. Affirm them. Say them with confidence. THey are a great way to start the day.

Yoga / Tai Chi / QI Gong

These exercise regimes are soothing and get your body moving. They help you stay supple. The breathing element helps calm the mind and stay peaceful. They also help your energy flow. They involve slow, peaceful movements or meditations to help you gain the extensive benefits. Find a teacher or get a book or DVD to learn how to do them correctly.
