Angel Tarot Course - The Hierophant & The Emperor.

The Emperor: Angel of Wisdom
KEYWORDS
The father, order, structure, authority, leadership, boundaries, ambition, law

The Emperor follows III The Empress, his tarot partner. Four is also the number of order and stability - rock-solid, just like the throne upon which he squarely sits. A strong and just ruler, he knows how to solve practical problems, and has earned his reputation. There is nothing hidden or mystic about this card: what we see is what we get. The Emperor-angel’s wings are fully open, showing that he is tuned in to his environment and present to every moment.

Meaning
Because he represents authority, The Emperor often comes up in a reading to show career changes: a promotion rewarding your ambition, or a smaller sign of gratitude for your work. More generally, he brings order to your life, and a reassurance that problems will be solved. The Emperor protects those he is responsible for, so the card can also show that you have people on your side. The Emperor can also represent a male partner in a reading.

Power Message It’s time to take the lead. Assert your authority, and focus on getting organised - at work and at home.

Affirmation
“I get my life in order knowing this gives me security and peace.”

The Hierophant: Angel of Blessings
KEYWORDS
Orthodoxy, religion, teaching, spiritual guidance, divine laws, thresholds, advice, unity

As the tarot’s angel-priest, The Hierophant is God’s interpreter. Like The High Priestess, he lives both in the realm of spirit and the world of matter, which is symbolised by the two keys at his feet, which signify the keys to the gates of Heaven. Unlike The High Priestess, however, the Hierophant is a servant of orthodox religion. He carries out his duties in public, and we see him with two followers, to show he is a bestower of blessings and teachings.

Meaning
The traditional meanings of The Hierophant can be confusing, as he appears to stand for education, mentors and marriage. The keyword ‘gateways’ perhaps brings these meanings together. Through education and mentoring we broaden our horizons, and through commitment and marriage we open a door to another new world. Because he represents religious tradition, The Hierophant can be a sign of hope to some and a symbol of restriction to others. However you interpret him, this card reveals that you are on the brink of a new development in your life.

Power Message It’s time to get the right support to take the next step. Accept the guidance on offer.

Affirmation
“I fully accept myself in mind, body and spirit.”
